Hi there! I’m Christina Morrison and I’m the owner of New Leaf Therapy and a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina (License #6379). Originally from Austin, Texas, I moved to South Carolina to attend Clemson University, where I earned a Bachelor’s in Psychology in 2005 and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2013.
In between my two degrees, I joined the Peace Corps and spent two years in Burkina Faso, West Africa where I taught middle-school math in French in a small village. It was there that I discovered how much I enjoy working with teenagers! I greatly enjoyed my time there, but I’m very thankful to have modern conveniences again!
After Peace Corps, I decided to go to grad school and become a counselor because I love listening to people and helping them with their problems. I’m passionate about helping teenagers and families!
Since 2014, I have worked as a counselor at a state agency counseling children, adolescents, and families in a wide variety of situations and mental health disorders. And in 2016, I launched New Leaf Therapy!
In my spare time I enjoy going hiking, doing photography, dancing, hanging out with my husband and my friends, working in my yard, traveling, reading, and scrapbooking. I also volunteer at my church and I’m willing to integrate Bible verses and scriptural principles into counseling for those clients who would prefer it. However, I respect everyone’s right to believe what they choose to and will not push my religious beliefs onto others.
